Why get a moisture test performed?
Moisture tests have become an important tool used by house inspectors in recent years in light of the leaky building issues.
They are a very useful tool at providing a guide as to what might be happening beneath the internal and external linings of a dwelling.
A BAB Moisture Test report can offer you the chance to find out what is really under the surface of your existing or prospective home or rental property, without having to get a full inspection performed.

How is the moisture test performed?
Firstly there are two common types of moisture test performed, invasive and non-invasive.
Invasive means you essentially punch through the cladding to check moisture content.
Non-invasive is where you use a meter that sits on the surface of timber or gib board and reads the moisture content in the timber below the top surface.
BAB only perform internal surface (non-invasive) moisture tests using state of the art Protimeter Surveymaster SM moisture meters. This ensures we can get a good picture of moisture levels without leaving any marks or holes.
The test takes approximately 1 hour to perform (depending on size of the dwelling) and the report is provided the very same day.
